R-ALA (R-Alpha Lipoic Acid) — Anti-Oxidant Supplement
Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals R-Lipoic Acid is a natural form of lipoic acid that your body can synthesize and safely metabolize. R-α-lipoic acid (R-LA) is a cofactor of mitochondrial enzymes and a very strong antioxidant. R-lipoic acid has been shown to be 10 times more effective than ordinary lipoic acid. Ordinary ALA has a short half-life and poor absorption (about 30%) because of poor solubility and instability in the stomach.
Hi-Tech's R-ALA uses our Cyclosome® formulation, which dramatically improves alpha lipoic acid absorption. The R-ALA version (isomer) of ALA shows the best bioavailability but is still limited due to its poor solubility and stability problems. Hi-Tech first stabilizes R-LA through complexation with cyclodextrin (CD). This alone has been orally shown to promote higher plasma levels with an area under the plasma concentration-time curve that was 2.5 times higher than that after oral administration of non-complexed R-LA.
Hi-Tech also then loads R-α-lipoic acid into a uniquely designed phospholipid bubble called a liposome. This powerful delivery system shows a 2.8-fold increase in absorption and manages to withstand all digestive challenges, transporting the R-LA directly into the cells where it’s needed most.
Hi-Tech has left nothing to chance when bringing you the most effective R-α-lipoic acid on the market!†
